Was born in Caruthersville on August 5, 1938. Departed this life at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Missouri on March 20, 2019 at the age of 80. He was the son of the late George Watkins & Margie Juanita Brumley Watkins. Attended the Caruthersville Schools and received his BS Degree in business from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Billy was a Veteran, having served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. On December 26, 1964 in Jackson, Pennsylvania he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Bechtlofft. Billy worked with his dad in the family plumbing business and later took over the business, making it three generations of service. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Caruthersville. Survived by- His Wife- Mary Ellen Watkins- Caruthersville, Missouri 2 Sons- Chris Watkins and his wife, Sherry, of Cincinnati, Ohio Billy Watkins and his wife, Melissa, of Caruthersville, Missouri 3 Daughters- Bernadette Cuevas and her husband, Chip, of Moss Point, Mississippi Michelle Castellaw and her husband, Tim, of Dyersburg, Tennessee Ellen A. Wadley and her husband, Alan, of Oakland, Tennessee 1 Brother- Mike Watkins and his wife, Bell, of Blytheville, Arkansas 3 Grandsons- Taylor Watkins, Chase Castellaw and Justin Wadley 7 Granddaughters- Camille Cuevas, Sydney Watkins, Brittany Grissom, Alyssa Grissom, Paige Castellaw, Chelsey Watkins and Alexandra Wadley. & a number of other relatives and many, many friends. Private family services were held Friday, March 22 in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Father Domonqic Ibok officiating. H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
