William Cook Obituary

William Rollin Cook, was born on February 5, 1942, in Kennett, MO, to George and Julia Catherine (Tat) Cook. He was the second of three sons. His brothers are George and Winston.

Billy, as he was known, attended Caruthersville schools, graduating from Caruthersville High School in 1960 before graduating from Lambuth College in Jackson, TN.

He married Sandra Kay Robertson, his high school sweetheart, and they had three wonderful children: Chris, Kenny, and Annemarie.

Billy worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years, starting by working for the first innkeeper in Jackson, TN. Billy was an outstanding athlete in Caruthersville and an avid tennis player for most of his life.

After living in Baton Rouge, LA, he became a passionate LSU Tigers fan. He and Sandra spent a good many years living in Houston, as well, where they officially became Texans. But Caruthersville was always where his heart was. He was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley. He had an infectious sense of humor that always made people laugh, and his kid's friends to this day still love to tell "Mr. Bill" stories and remember the funny things he did and said over the years.

Billy is preceded in death by his brother George Wells Cook and parents George and Tat Cook.

He is survived by Sandra, his wife of 59 years, his brother Winston (wife Kirsten) of Washington state, sons Chris (wife Misty) of Dallas, Tx, Kenny of Cary, North Carolina and daughter Annemarie (husband Chris Grandinetti) of Austin, Tx his sister-in-law, Kitten Cook of Caruthersville. His grandchildren are Presley (18 years), Aidan (15 years), and Seth (12 years) in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him. He will be greatly missed by his beloved rescue dog, Roy, who was with him by his side until the end.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Caruthersville Humane Society or Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held September 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri, with his brother, Winston Cook officiating.
