Wilda McElyea Obituary
Wilda Dodd McElyea was born in Holladay, Tennessee on March 1, 1926. She was the daughter of Deward D Dodd and Lyda Odle Dodd.
She departed this life at the Heritage Living Center in Conway, Arkansas on February 14, 2018. She was 91 years old.
Wilda moved to Caruthersville with her family in 1932. She attended the Caruthersville Public Schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1945.
She worked as the assistant to the Superintendent of the Caruthersville Schools until her retirement in 1992.
During her retirement she enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and spending time with her family. She was very proud of her children but her real joy was her 2 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
She was a member of the Caruthersville Presbyterian Church.

Grandson - Zachary Vize - Linn Creek, MO
Granddaughter - Alison Hill (Jeff) - Greenbrier, AR
Great granddaughter - Ashlee Hill - Greenbrier, AR
Many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents (DD and Lyda Dodd), 3 brothers, James, Carl (Jiggs), Gerald (Bub) Dodd and a sister, Betty McQuiston.
Graveside services were held at Pemiscot Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating on Friday, February 16, 2018.
