Named after her father, Warren Gredia was born July 2,1950, to Perllean and Warren Lewis in West Memphis, AR. As one of more than 20 children, she might have been the most spoiled of the bunch. She had a huge personality that was anything other than cookie cutter - and if she was in the room, you knew she was there.
Quite eccentric, unique and independent, Gredia went by the beat of her own drum.
As a young woman, Gredia traveled extensively to experience life in Florida, California, Illinois and Arizona, but always called Caruthersville home. In her early days she was known to show out in the kitchen with her signature dishes of gumbo and chicken curry. It could easily be said, Gredia knew how to wear a smile and was a fashionista that adored her perfume and fragrances. Her magnificent sense of decorative style overflowed from ceiling to floor wherever she made a home for her children.
Gredia began her walk with the Lord, 12 August 1973 and was baptized at Mount Carmel MB Church in Caruthersville, MO under Reverend Moses Black, where she sang in the choir. She later joined fellowship at Morning Star Church and served both dutifully and faithfully as an Usher, while being on the Pastor's Aide Committee.
September 11, 1999 she opened her heart to love and married Booker T. Kinnon and they remained married until his death in September 2023. Gredia enjoyed spending time with her family. Gospel music, laughter, good movie dramas, classiness, integrity and a true Love of God were all woven threads that made up who she was.
She joined in Rest her husband: Booker T. Kinnon; her son - Beronica Lewis; her grandson - Julian Reynolds; her parents: Warren D. Lewis and Perllean Davis; her aunt and uncle: Nellie Mae Cox and Clyde Hill; her sisters - Bertha Halliburton, Georgie Johnson, Leatha Bell, Ella Hill, and Maxine Lewis; her brothers - James Cooley Jr., Richard Hill, and Larry Lewis; and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Gredia leaves a Legacy of cherished Memories to her children: James Primer Jr., CaSundra (Herbert) Grant, Antonio (Rhonda) Primer Sr; one sister: Werna Kenny; and two brothers: John Lewis and Michael Lewis; her grandchildren: Joshua Lewis, Eric Lewis, Christopher Payton, Tristin Ott, Trenton Johnson, Deon Lewis, Keegan Primer, Antonious Gooden, Antonio Primer Jr., China Norris, Kameisha Lewis, Kirsten Ott, Chloe' Reynolds, Talisha Primer, and Asreil Watkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at Divine Holiness Church in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Pastor Jamie Jones officiating.
H.S. Smith in charge of services.
