Wanda Woods was born May 21, 1942, in Holland, Missouri. She was the daughter of Ray Turner and Verna Hamm.
She departed this life at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on December 18, 2021. She was 79 years old.
On April 30, 1960, Wanda was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leon Woods, Sr. Together they shared a lifetime of memories that included their three children.
Wanda worked at Brown Shoe for many years, then in the cafeteria for the Caruthersville Schools, and finally at the River Oaks Nursing Center in Steele, Missouri.
There was nothing Wanda enjoyed more than spending time with her grandkids. This included watching television, especially a good western or a scary movie.
She is survived by: three children: Leon Woods, Jr. (Dana), Clarence Woods, Sr. (Wendy), and Yolanda Holt (Donny, Jr.); two brothers: Tom Tedder (Alvina) and Wayne Hamm (Shirley); one sister: Brenda Owens (Eugene); 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Leon Woods, Sr.; her parents: Gerald & Verna Hamm and Ray & Irma Turner; a sister: Melba Johnson; two brothers: Jerry Hamm & Terry Turner; and a grandson: Leon Woods, II (Slugger).
Funeral services were held December 21st, 2021, in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
