Wanda Mae Wheeler was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, on October 14,1949. She was the daughter of Kenneth Lee and Mary Florence Bray.
She departed this life in Sikeston, Missouri, on June 11, 2026. She was 76 years old.
Wanda graduated from Caruthersville High School with the class of 1967.
She worked at Brown Shoe Factory for many years and then after moving to Portageville, she began working as a retail clerk at a lady’s boutique.
On April 11, 1987, she was united in marriage to Johnny Wheeler.
Wanda was a lady with a big personality. She enjoyed people and always had something to say. For Mother’s Day she got flowers but her favorite gift was a box of assorted chocolates.
She was a member of Assembly of God church in Portageville, Missouri.
Survived by – her husband - Johnny Wheeler
1 son – Terry Copeland and his wife, Melissa
1 daughter – Christine Copeland Jackson and her husband, Bryan
3 brothers – Tommy Lee, Kenny Lee and Richard Lee
1 sister – Denise Stepp
Her step-mother – Hazel Louise Lee
2 grandchildren – Ashton Copeland, Brylee Jackson
4 great grandchildren
2 very special friends – Linda and Nancy

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons – Gary Copeland, and Jeff Wheeler, + her daughter – Crystal Wheeler, a sister – Judy Lee, and a brother – Ronnie Keith
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
