Virginia Carol Pearson was born in South Bend, Indiana, on September 30, 1946. She was the daughter of Oscar Wesley McNees and June Aileen Wilks McNees.
She departed this life in New Madrid, Missouri, on October 5, 2024. She was 78 years old.
Carol worked as a bank teller for many years in Memphis, Tennessee.
Carol enjoyed going to yard sales, doing arts and crafts, watching Cardinal baseball, drinking Dr. Pepper, listening to music, dancing and mud wrestling. When you saw Carol, you saw her with her red lipstick.
She is survived by two sons: Michael McNees and his wife, Christina, of Caruthersville, MO, and John Wesley Pearson of Arlington, Texas; her husband of 43 years: Daniel Lee Mooney; three grandchildren: Serenity Mae McNees of Caruthersville, MO, Sarah Pearson of Arlington, Texas, and Sophie Noel McNees of Booneville, Mississippi; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Kenny Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
