Truman Lee Smith was born in Hayti, Missouri, on June 8, 1966. He was the son of Truman E. Smith and Linda Carolyn Alexander Phelps.
Lee departed this life in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on July 9, 2025. He was 59 years old.
Lee was a graduate of Caruthersville High School with the class of 1984.
One of Lee's favorite hobbies involved race cars. He enjoyed watching races on television.
His greatest love was his family. He and his son went to the movies every week. He never missed a sporting event that his daughter was involved in. When his brother, Timmy, got sick, Lee was the best brother ever. He did everything he could to help take care of him.
He is survived by his wife: Missy Smith of Cape Girardeau, MO; one son: Cooper Alexander Smith of Cape Girardeau, MO; one daughter: Emma Grace Smith of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters: Rita Smith Middleton and her husband, Belton McWilliams, of Caruthersville, MO, & Tammie Smith of Caruthersville, MO; one brother: Truman E. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Shannon, of Caruthersville, MO; and many other relatives including aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, James Phelps, a brother, Timmy Smith, and a brother-in-law, Michael Middleton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel in Caruthersville, MO, with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
