Tammie Sayre Obituary

Tammie Lee Sayre was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 10, 1967.  She was the daughter of Tommy Ross Sayre and Delila Adams Sayre Swinger.

She departed this life at her home in Caruthersville, Missouri, on November 17, 2024.  She was 56 years old.

Tammie attended Caruthersville High School graduating with the class of 1986.  She then attended Southeast Missouri State University.

Tammie loved life.  She had a huge interest in politics and loved to engage in discussions about her views.  She also had a huge heart for animals especially her three dogs – Cash, Cato, and Layla.  She was known to have a few disagreements with her sister, Amy, and it would often end with a fistfight (which she would be the winner of).

She worked as an instructional aide for the Caruthersville School System for several years.  She also worked in the family businesses, Taylor Sand and Gravel and Caruthersville Marine.

Tammie’s greatest love in life was her family of which her son, Taylor, was her pride and joy.

She is survived by one son: Taylor Sayre Medlin of Jonesboro, Arkansas; her mother and “eye daddy”: Delila Swinger (Dr. Terry Swinger) of Caruthersville, Missouri; one sister: Amy Sayre Bishop (Chad) of Caruthersville, Missouri; one nephew: Ross Northcutt of Caruthersville, Missouri; one niece: Jordan Babcock Brotz (Jon) of Caruthersville, Missouri; one great niece: Lyla Ross Brotz of Caruthersville, Missouri; and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and her aunt, Diane Sayre.
