Ruth Ann Floyd Gunter was born February 13, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Julian Phelps and Ruth Gibson Phelps.
She departed this life at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas on June 7, 2021. She was 72 years old.
Ruth Ann was a lady that enjoyed people. She loved playing card games, in particular, Rummy and Pitch. She was a great cook and cooked at several different restaurants in Caruthersville. She also loved her dogs.
Her greatest love was for her family including grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by
Six Children: Ricky Floyd and his wife, Tammy of Caruthersville, MO, Eddie Floyd and his wife, Ronie of Caruthersville, MO, Tracy Floyd and his wife, Tracy of Alabama, Stacy Floyd of Caruthersville, MO, Jamie Floyd of Arkansas, & Josh Floyd of Marble Hill, MO; one brother: Jerry Phelps of Tennessee; two sisters: Carolyn Brunelle of Poplar Bluff, MO, & Hope Franks of Caruthersville, MO; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Billy and Brenda Floyd; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister - Darla Tipton, one brother - Billy Phelps, and her husband - Gene Floyd
Graveside services were held June 9, 2021, at Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating.
