Ruel Starnes Obituary
Ruel Martin Starnes was born January 18, 1945, in Portageville, Missouri. He was the son of Herbert Starnes and Vera Jones Starnes.
He departed this life at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 1, 2021. He was 76 years old.
Ruel worked as a dispatcher for a trucking firm in Florida for many years.
He was united in marriage to Linda Dale in Caruthersville, Missouri. They celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Ruel loved music and was a very talented guitar player. He also loved watching wrestling.
He had planned to enlist in the armed forces but just when he got ready to the Vietnam War ended so he didn't enlist.
He was a member of the Jesus Name Tabernacle.
Survived by - his wife - Linda Starnes
His daughter - Tabatha Kay Starnes
His sister - Geneva Barnett
2 grandchildren
Other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister - Marie Barnett.
Funeral services were held March 4, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Pastor Richard Lee officiating. Interment in Maple Cemetery.
