Ronald Earl Field

Ronald Earl Field, known fondly as Ron to his friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 29, 2024, at the age of 85, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on November 15, 1938, in Odessa, Texas, Ron was a man who carried the spirit of the Lone Star State within him throughout his life.

Ron’s journey began as a bright-eyed child in Odessa, where he developed a love for the simplicity of outdoor living and the thrill of sports. His passion for life was evident in his warm smile and the twinkle in his eye whenever he spoke of his childhood adventures. After completing his education, Ron served our country in the army and then embarked on a fulfilling career at General Motors, where he dedicated many years of service. His commitment to his work was surpassed only by his commitment to his colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends.

Upon retirement, Ron never slowed down. Instead, he channeled his energy into the activities he cherished most. Ron could often be found outdoors, tinkering with a project in his yard or simply enjoying the sunshine on his face. He was also an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life.

Ron's legacy is carried on through his loving family. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Turpin; his son, Randall Field; and his grandsons, Colin, Trevor, and Ian Turpin. Each of them will hold dear the memory of Ron’s boundless love, his hearty laughter, and the wisdom he imparted over the years.

Ron's life was a testament to the values he held dear: hard work, dedication, and the importance of family. He was a pillar of strength, a source of wise counsel, and the heart of every gathering. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Ron Field will be missed, but the stories of his life will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends for generations to come. As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the world and in our hearts.

Ron’s final resting place will be in Caruthersville, Missouri, where he will be interred in a private ceremony. His spirit, forever interwoven with the vast Texas skies he so loved, will watch over us, reminding us to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often, just as he did.
