Richard Lynn McCaig, Jr.

Richard Lynn McCaig, Jr. was born December 10, 1993, in Hayti, Missouri. He was the son of Richard McCaig, Sr. and Sheila Nelson McCaig.

He departed this life on April 26, 2021, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 27 years old.

Richard graduated from Caruthersville High School with the class of 2012.

Richard was a young man that enjoyed life. He loved anything that had to do withoutdoors - fishing, hunting, and 4 wheeling. His greatest pleasure was time that he spent with his family.

Survived by - his parents - Richard and Sheila McCaig

2 brothers - Logan McCaig and his wife, Payton

Grandfathers - Roger McCaig and Johnny Nelson

Grandmother - Sandra Nelson

1 daughter - Kay Kay Garza

1 niece - Elizabeth McCaig

2 nephews - Hunter Nelson and Braxton Nelson

Fiancée - Casey Allen

Many other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents - Bob Simpson, Madie McCaig, Freda McCormick, grandparents - Rosie and Armble Moore, Diane McCaig, Timmy Nelson, an aunt - Wendy Davis, a cousin - Shane McCormick

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Jesus Name Tabernacle with Rev. Richard Lee officiating. The interment was in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville. H. S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
