Patricia JoAnn Hosler, affectionally known as “Mommom” to everyone who knew and loved her, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully in her home in Caruthersville, MO, on December 9, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family who were the center of her world. She was 84 years old.
JoAnn was born in Van Buren, MO on June 23, 1940, to Monta Blane Godsy and Alta Oneita Godsy.
JoAnn was united in marriage to Johnny Hosler on October 18, 1977, in Caruthersville, MO. They shared 47 wonderful years of marriage building a legacy of love and family.
JoAnn grew up with a passion for creating, cooking, traveling, and nurturing, traits that carried into every aspect of her life. She was a talented cook who delighted in preparing meals that brought her family together around the table. Her love of crafting was evident in the many beautiful projects she lovingly created over the years. An adventurer at heart, JoAnn loved to travel and explore finding joy in every journey, near and far. She cherished any opportunity to make memories with family and friends. Hawaii was one of her favorite travel destinations. When traveling with her grandchildren she would make matching shirts for them to keep track of everyone- a testament to her care and creativity.
She was a fan of cooking, gardening, and crafting shows, drawing inspiration to share her talents with those around her.
Her love for her family was immeasurable and she left behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion. She will be remembered for her warm heart, creative spirit, and unwavering love. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband: Johnny Hosler of Caruthersville, MO; her daughter: Talei Jo Woods of Caruthersville, MO; her son: Ken Hosler (Jana) of Poplar Bluff, MO; her sister: Mary Peterson (Milton) of Nixa, MO; and two brothers: Dwight Godsy of Illinois and Dale Godsy of Alabama.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Matthew Woods, Stephanie Studie, Marsha Hayes, Natalia Woods, Katricia Roe, Amber Armstrong, Colton Mannon, and Caleb Hosler; as well as a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter - Deborah Elaine Hill, her brother -Johnny Godsy, and her infant brother - Damon Godsy.
Mommom’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.
