Mr. O.T. Marshall was born October 5, 1950, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to the late Sam Oliver and May (Mary) Lizzie Brown.
O.T. spent the majority of his youth, growing up in Caruthersville, Missouri, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. He entered and served in the United States Army from December 18, 1975, until July 18, 1977. Upon his discharge from the army, he returned to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and became employed by Union Pacific Railroad.
In 1985, he returned to Caruthersville, Missouri, to assist with his mother's care. There, O.T. was employed by The Bootheel Beacon Newspaper, South Gate Nursing Home, and Pemiscot Memorial Health Center.
We weep because we will miss O.T. 's presence and his enduring love. We rejoice because he is in God's hands, where he will no longer suffer anymore pain. O.T. was preceded in death by his parents – Sam Oliver and May (Mary) Lizzie Brown, and brothers – Robert Marshall & Leonard Pearson.
O.T. is survived by his son: Trent Wilburn (Latosha) of Hayti, Missouri; one sister: Freeda (Matthew) Mosley of San Antonio, Texas; one brother: Lewis T. (Sophia) Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends; and his adoptive family: Carolyn Wilburn, Everette Wilburn, Johnny Lynn Honeycutt, Janice Wilburn, and Fairetta Honeycutt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel in Caruthersville, MO, with Pastor Johnny Hood officiating. Interment with military honors to follow in Morgan Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm.
