Max Hinchey Obituary

Max L. Hinchey was born September 29, 1925 in Steele, Missouri. He was the son of the late Oscar Lee Hinchey and Ethie Moody Clark Hinchey.

He departed this life at his home in Cadiz, Kentucky on June 18, 2018. He was 92 years old.

Max had many hobbies. They included golfing, hunting, raising a garden, bowling, riding 4-wheelers. He loved college basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a CB radio operator and club member. He enjoyed not only mowing his own yard but his neighbors.

Survived by - 2 daughters - Cathy Ann Varnell

1 sister - Emma Jean Thompson (Bill)

Sister-in-law - Peggy Hinchey

5 grandchildren - Roy Leasure, Max L. Batley, Teresa D. McCaig, Christopher D. Evans, Karen Ivey

15 great grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends

Preceded in death by his parents - Oscar and Ethie Hinchey, a daughter - Linda K. Leasure, 2 sisters - Betty Jo Ballard & Maxine Franklin, a brother (who died the day after he did) - Rayburn Lee Hinchey, & one great grandson, Cristain Batley

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating. Interment in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens.

Pall bearers were family members.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
