Mattie Daniels-Hayes Obituary

Mattie Ann Daniels-Hayes was born on July 7, 1946, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to William "Buck" and Josephine Daniels. She was the ninth child to this blessed union.

She departed this life in Hayti, Missouri, on January 28th, 2023. She was 76 years old.

Mattie Ann graduated from Washington High School in Caruthersville. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Twelfth Street Baptist Church.

In 1969, she was united in holy matrimony to W. L. Hayes, Sr. He was the Worshipful Master of Lodge #5. To this union, their son-William Lando was born.

Mattie Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband: W. L. Hayes, Sr; her son: William Lando; both parents; her brothers: Tommie Lee, W. H., Robert, and James Leonard; and her sisters: Willie Mae, Mary Bell, and JoVerna.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters: Rosie Lee Little of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Shirley Ann Lindsey of St. Louis, Missouri; stepson: W. L. "Jimmy" Hayes, Jr.; a special niece: Donna Jean Lewis; a host of nieces and nephews; and her cousin: A. C. Cleave of Perryville, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the H. S. Smith Chapel in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Reverend Jason McIntosh officiating. Interment to follow service at Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
