Mary Lynn Obituary
Mary Glenda Lynn was born December 28, 1938, in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was the daughter of William R. Hayden and Jetty Beatrice Crowe Hayden.
She departed this life in Kennett, Missouri on May 21, 2022. She was 83 years old.
Mary graduated from Caruthersville High School with the class of 1957.
On November 17, 1958 in Caruthersville she was united in marriage to Robert Lynn. He preceded her in death.
Mary was a lady that loved life. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her pecan pies and pound cakes. When the grandchildren came along, she became a wonderful Nanny. She taught the grandkids how to whistle, how to hum and was always ready to shoot some basketball with them.
She studied the lottery numbers and always thought she would be the "big winner." She also enjoyed doing word puzzles.
She is survived by three children: Linda Prater of Caruthersville, MO, John Lynn of Caruthersville, MO, and Rich Lynn and his wife, Jill, of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters: Martha Cole (her twin) and Jane LePlavy; one brother: Mike Hayden; five grandchildren: Brandon Smith and his wife, Brooke, of Dyersburg, TN, Madison Gibbens and her husband, Wes, of Caruthersville, MO, Sarah Robinson and her husband, Michael, of Caruthersville, MO, Hayden Lynn and his wife, Breanna, of Jackson, MO, and Leyton Lynn of Cape Girardeau, MO; four great grandchildren: Brock & Bristyl Smith and Stetson & Jayce Gibbens; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and ten siblings.
Funeral services were held May 25th, 2022, at the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating. Interment in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
