Mary Tharnell (Moody) Creasy

Mary Tharnell (Moody) Creasy was born on January 5, 1939 in Scotts Hill, Tennessee to parents Bethel Moody and Willie Dees Moody. She departed this life on January 1, 2026 in Cumming, Georgia at the age of 86.

She was married to her husband J.C. Creasy on April 26, 1957 in Corinth, Mississippi and enjoyed 63 years of marriage together when J.C. preceded her in death in 2020.

Mary enjoyed a life of love and kept herself busy with her family and her work as a legal secretary. In her free time, Mary enjoyed unwinding while watching television or getting her steps in on the walking track and loved her dog Smokie and her son’s dog Harley. Another great love of hers was Gold Metal Ribbon ice cream from Baskin-Robbins and shopping for new clothes.

Mary is survived by her son Brian Creasy (Paula) of Cumming, Georgia and two beloved grandchildren Brittany Creasy and Jordan Creasy.

She is preceded in death by her husband J.C. Creasy, sister Blondell Lowry, and brothers Billy, Dalton, Alton, and Coy.

Graveside services will be held on January 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating.
