Mary Cook Obituary
Mary Frances (Fran) Cook was born in Hayti, Missouri on November 12, 1924. She was the daughter of Harmon Phillips and Lola Grace Jones.
She departed this life in Caruthersville, Missouri on December 2, 2019. She was 95 years old.
Fran graduated from Hayti High School in 1943. On April 24, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware she was united in marriage to Mr. Arthur Bennett Cook, Sr. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Fran was a very community minded lady. She served as president of the Business and Professional Women Club. She was also an active member of the SEMO Club and the Pemiscot County Historical Society. She also enjoyed doing many different types of crafts. One of the things that she was well known for was making and decorating wedding cakes.
When she wasn't busy with community events, she was a very busy beautician.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survived by - 3 children - Cherry Ann Fitzhugh
2 sisters - Peggy Barnes and Barbara Pullam
1 brother - Gary Phillips
7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 brothers - Charles Watts, and 3 sisters - Vera Lemonds, Shirley Russom and Sammy Jo Price.
