Martha Dorroh Obituary

Martha Louise Wrenn Dorroh was born February 13, 1927, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Earle Lewis Wrenn and Linnie Mae Wilkins Wrenn.

She departed this life in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 24, 2021. She was 94 years old.

Martha graduated from Ruleville High School and then attended Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi, before graduating from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, with a BS in Home Economics. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority.

After graduation, she worked as a home economist with Arkansas Missouri Power Company in Blytheville, Arkansas and Caruthersville, Missouri. It was in Caruthersville that she met Charles Frank Dorroh and they were united in marriage on June 14, 1951, in Doddsville, Mississippi. He preceded her in death.

Martha made her home in Caruthersville for many years. She was a member of Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church and participated in many areas of service in her church and hometown. Martha enjoyed entertaining and using her gift of hospitality to make others feel welcome and at home wherever she was.

She is survived by three daughters: Diane Smith (Carl) of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary Lynn Bellott (Dan) of Memphis, Tennessee, Linda Buller (Greg) of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister-in-law: Lynette Wrenn; a brother-in-law: Lee Dorroh (Betty); four grandchildren: Nathan Smith (Jamie), Rachel Fishman (Jesse), Mark Bellott, & Amy Tabor (Sam); five great grandchildren: Jillian & Lydia Smith, Gavin & Addie Fishman, and Watson Tabor; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Earle and Linnie Wrenn; her husband: Charles Frank Dorroh; son: Frank Mark Dorroh; brother: Earle Lewis Wrenn, Jr.; and sister-in-law: Margaret Jane Glozier.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials please by given to the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church or the Caruthersville Public Library.

Graveside services were held August 31, 2021, in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
