Martha May Andrews

Martha May Andrews was born in Steele, Missouri, on March 2, 1929. She departed this life at her home in Miramar Beach, Florida, on July 18, 2022, at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Ollie M. Whitfield & Mary Quay Warren Whitfield. Mrs. Andrews attended school in Steele, Missouri. On March 20, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Mr. Howard Andrews. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1999.

Mrs. Andrews worked at Brown Shoe Company in Caruthersville for over 48 years and was chosen to be the person to lock the door when the factory closed. She then worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart for 25 years.

She is survived by one daughter: Judy Andrews of Miramar Beach, Florida; one brother: Wesley Whitfield; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Andrews was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur "Pete" Whitfield, and one sister, Lois Welch.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 24th, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the H. S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating. The interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, Missouri. H. S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
