Marion Morgan was born in Porum, Oklahoma, on August 14, 1935. He was the son of Ed Morgan and Grace King Morgan.
He departed this life in Caruthersville, Missouri, on December 28, 2024. He was 89 years old.
"Coach" as he was known to everyone came to Caruthersville in 1972. He served the Caruthersville School System as a teacher, coach and athletic trainer. He was very proud of the fact that he was the first athletic trainer inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
He was married to Marjorie Walker on August 12, 1963. They were married for 25 years before her death. On August 31,1991 in Caruthersville, he was united in marriage to Christina Stevens. They were married for 32 years before her death.
He is survived by stepchildren: Troy Cooper (Neoma), David Cooper (Janice), Tina Stevens, Nancy Haliford, Danny Stevens (Teresa), Linda Clayton (Mike), and Glenda Raffety (Phil); his step daughter-in-law: Denise Cooper; and grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two sisters - Geraldine Morgan Poe and Lorene Morgan Philpot, and two step sons - Roy and Gary Cooper.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
