Lynn Kelsey Obituary

Lynn Monroe Kelsey was born January 6, 1953 in Hayti, Missouri. He was the son of the late Kimball Kelsey and the late Dorothy Bay Notgrass and Morris Notgrass.

He departed this life at Hayti, Missouri on August 13, 2018. He was 65 years old.

Lynn worked for Ameren Utilities for 30 years before retiring.

He was had many hobbies - deer and dove hunting, fishing, and golfing. Lynn was an avid golfer who won the Caruthersville County Club Championship in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's. His greatest love was spending time with his family. This might be playing ball, swimming or just sitting and talking in the backyard. The greatest name he had was "Pops" because that is who he was to the grandchildren.

Lynn was a man that always was known for helping. If he saw a need, he found a solution. This is why he was often called, "The Fixer."

On April 28, 2006 in Caruthersville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Ginger Hopgood.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survived by - Ginger Kelsey - Caruthersville, Missouri

4 children – Kristi Stevens and her husband, Zach - Hayti, Missouri

4 brothers - Kim Kelsey, Kerry Kelsey, Danny Notgrass, John Notgrass

1 sister - Peggy Notgrass

6 grandchildren - Kelsey Stevens, Jake Stevens, Talor Hopgood, Taner Hopgood, Mary Clare Glisson, Luke Kelsey

Many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife - Nita Kelsey.

Funeral services were held at Temple Baptist Church on August 16, 2018 with Brother Jim Pilcher and Mr. Jerry Don Hays officiating. Interment followed in Maple Cemetery with Brother Mike McDaniel.

Pall bearers: Chris Crysler, Lee Bethune, Bill Reno, Mike Wagster, Josh Ray, James White

Honorary Pall bearers: Kevin Faulkner, Scott Foster, Jerry Don Hays
