Louise (affectionately known as ‘Granny’) Bradley of Caruthersville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at Desoto Health Care Center in Southaven, Mississippi. Louise was born on December 25, 1927, in Jackson, Tennessee, to Lee and Ludy Ann Spencer. She grew up and attended school in Jackson before marrying the late Ben Bradley of Caruthersville, Missouri.
Louise was a devoted family woman who cherished her loved ones deeply. Her days were often filled with the joy of going to church, listening to gospel music, and watching old-school spiritual tapes. Her warm presence and quick wit made her the heart of any gathering. Known for her playful 'trash talking,' she always brought laughter and joy to those around her.
Bingo was her favorite pastime, and sharing her winnings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense happiness. Granny never met a stranger and had a unique way of making everyone feel like family.
Louise is survived by her nine children:
- Rose Banger (Anthony), Southaven, MS
- Benny Bradley, Hayti, MO
- Roy Bradley (Juanita), Blytheville, AR
- Alvin Bradley, Los Angeles, CA
- Felicia Bradley, Lansing, MI
- Monterrey Bradley, Kansas City, MO
- Brenda Bradley, Caruthersville, MO
- Daylee Bradley (Tennille), Tampa, FL
- Christopher Bradley, Lansing, MI
She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Bradley; Her parents, Lee and Ludy Spencer; her siblings, Roy Spencer Jr., Benny James, Jessie Lee, Dorsey James, Eddie Lee, and Alberta Woods; Granddaughter, Lakita Bradley and a special cousin, Alene Salvage.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Louise leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith. Her storytelling, cooking, and moral values touched everyone who knew her. Above all, her unwavering love for God was the foundation of her life and family.
To know 'Granny' was to love her. She will forever be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
