Louberta Wooden Obituary

Louberta (Denkins) Wooden was born December 8, 1944 in Osceola, Arkansas, the daughter of Elbert and Ophelia (Moore) Denkins. She was one of six children, preceding her in death were her parents, Elbert and Ophelia Denkins, sister, Alberta Denkins, husband, Mitchell Wooden and grandson, Devin Lamar Alexander.

Loubertha departed this life Monday, December 9, 2019, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital.

Loubertha was united in Holy matrimony to Mitchell Wooden on June 19, 1966, this union produced fifteen wonderful children. She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in her twenties. As a Pastor’s wife she supported her husband in all areas of kingdom building until they were separated in death in 2002. Hand in hand with her husband, she worked diligently in the vineyard at Gospel Temple Holy Trinity Church. She was an avid Sunday school teacher, Missionary, prayer warrior, and church member.

Louberta retired from Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems after 40 years of service. In addition to building the kingdom of God, Louberta and Mitchell fostered over 40 children, trained other parents to become foster parents, and provided childcare to many children in the community. Her home has always been open to those in need of a warm meal, words of strength and encouragement, and a place to rest their weary soul.

She leaves to mourn siblings, Willie Lee Love, Elbert Denkins, Billy More, and Alice Davis along with her children, Frank (Debra) Flowers, Pearleen Turner, Tina Wooden, Charlotte Wooden, Mitchell (Rita) Wooden, Odessia (Antonio) Rogers, Dorothy (Lamon) Davis, Ophelia Wooden, Peggy Alexander, Christina Wade, Tony (Lexi) Wooden, DeSean Flowers, Kiara (Judge) Jones, Paris (Christopher) Smith, and Queentasia Wooden, lifetime friends, Lee (Sandy) Wigginton, 60 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren along with a host of family members and friends.
