Linda Lavonne Starnes was born in Jackson, Missouri, on September 10, 1945. She was the daughter of Lyman Dale and Ruth Smith Dale.
She departed this life in Kennett, Missouri, on May 21, 2025. She was 79 years old.
After graduating from high school, Linda attended Southeast Missouri State University and then the University of Hawaii.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Ruel Martin Starnes in Caruthersville, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
Linda had a very strong relationship with Jesus Christ. She leaned on her faith many times to get through hard situations. She was an active member of Jesus Name Tabernacle.
She is survived by her sister: Betty Ruth Gardner; one niece: Beth Criner; and many other relatives and friends including her church family and Ruel’s family.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Lyman and Ruth Dale, and her brother – Damon Dale.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Jesus Name Tabernacle in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Reverend Richard Lee officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.
