Lillian Willene Boyd was born in Strawberry, Arkansas, on August 30, 1932. She was the daughter of William Blankenship and Gladys Townsley Blankenship Davis.
She departed this life at her home in Caruthersville, Missouri, on January 30, 2024. She was 91 years old.
Lillian was united to Walker Turner Boyd, Jr. in St. Louis, Missouri. They were the parents of 7 girls.
For many years, she worked as a cook for White Castle. She and Walker moved to Caruthersville, where they owned and operated Boyd Brothers Ford. Later, she became an insurance agent for Reliable Life.
She was a very social person and loved family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, raising both flowers and vegetables. She loved all types of animals and was known for being able to imitate many bird sounds.
She is survived by seven daughters: Monika Lovera of St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy Ewers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Susan Lowery of Memphis, Tennessee, Katherine Hudson of Caruthersville, Missouri, Rebecca Harwick of North Edwards, California, Linda Shell-Boyd of St. Louis, Missouri, & Margaret Peterson of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters: Mary Benson of Kansas City, Missouri, & Francis Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery in St. Louis.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm, prior to services.
