Larry Thrasher Obituary
Larry D. Thrasher was born July 25, 1940, in Bragg City, Missouri. He was the son of Thomas D. Thrasher and Irene Stubbs Thrasher.
He departed this life at his home in Caruthersville, Missouri, on October 6, 2021. He was 81 years old.
On February 29, 1992, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Pat McPherson. She preceded him in death.
Larry was the owner and operator of his trucking company. He drove over four million miles during his trucking career.
Larry loved going to Jiffy Jim's every day to the "College of Knowledge" where world problems were solved over many cups of coffee. He also enjoyed playing golf and looked forward to his annual golf trips and tournaments. He and Pat also enjoyed traveling. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and also enjoyed football, college, pros, and high school.
He is survived by three sons: Larry Thrasher, Jr., Frank Thrasher (Susan), & Steve Thrasher, all of Caruthersville, MO; stepson: Perry Owens (Julie) of El Reno, OK; grandchildren: Franki Lu Thrasher, Larry Joe Thrasher, Bonnie Marie Thrasher, Blaine Owens, Blake Owens Baleigh Henley (Trey), Patrick Owens, Eryn Posey (Stephen), Aidan Owens; and other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister: Kay Thrasher; grandson: Dustin Thrasher; and stepsons: John & Bryan Owens.
Funeral services were held October 8, 2021, in H. S. Smith Chapel with Brother Mike McDaniel officiating. Interment in Maple Cemetery.
