Larry Randle Ford, Sr. was born May 26, 1952, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was the son of Clay Henry Ford and Annie Tosh Ford.
He departed this life in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, on July 20, 2024. He was 72 years old.
On March 25, 1969, in Caruthersville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Malin. They celebrated 55 years of marriage!
Randle was a pilot for the ferry that crossed the Mississippi River between Caruthersville and Tiptonville. He could also operate any type of heavy equipment.
His favorite thing was being “PePaw” to his grandkids and great grandkids. He could make anything they did into an adventure whether it was picking up pecans or going deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife: Jacqueline Ford; one son: Larry Randle Ford, Jr.; two brothers: Clay Harold Ford and Billy Merryman; one sister: Peggy Batley; four grandchildren: Larry Randle Ford, III (Haley Elizabeth), Jonathan Clay Ford (Amy LeeAnn), Ethan Kolby Rudd, and Luke Colby Ford; and two great grandchildren: Hazel Grace Ford & Mason Montgomery Ford.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Clay Ford and Annie Ford, two sisters – Patricia McCammon and Louise Goodale, and an infant brother – Gary.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Jon Haywood officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
