Lannie Louella Gipson was born February 7, 1941, in Canton, Mississippi. She was born to Eardell Nichols and Richard Nichols.
She transitioned at her home on June 4, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband - William Franklin Gipson, her mother - Eardell Nichols, her father - Richard Nichols, two sisters - Lula King and Rosie Lee Nichols, a brother - Charles Nichols, and a grandson - Antonia Marquis Nichols.
Louella was baptized at Progressive Church of God in the early 80s. She moved to the leadership of Divine Holiness Church in 2000.
She was the Mother of the church. Louella loved to talk on the phone with friends and family. She enjoyed eating out, playing with her grandchildren, and shopping. Louella worked at an early age as a housekeeper and chopped cotton. She loved to listen to her gospel music and travel with her son, Johnny.
Louella Gipson leaves to cherish her memories, three children: Gertrude Nichols, Johnny Gipson of Caruthersville, MO, and Diana Gipson of Cape Girardeau, MO; one sister: Therese Green of St. Louis, MO; two brothers: Roosvelt (Fern) Nichols of St. Louis, MO, and Richard (Gwen) Nichols of Pensacola, FL; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Holiness Church in Caruthersville, MO, with Pastor Jamie Jones officiating. Interment to follow in Morgan Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
