Lanell “Dorothy” Thomas

Lanell "Dorothy" Thomas, 58, of Caruthersville, Missouri, was called home November 23, 2022. Lanell was born on November 24, 1964, to John Eddie Taylor and Bernice Thomas (both deceased). She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Claude Taylor, Eddie Taylor, Robert Grant and John Taylor, Jr. Lanell was well known for her continuing faith in God and enjoying church every Sunday. She was loved by many for always being up-beat, keeping a smile on her face and making others smile.

She leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memory: (Sons) Claude and Davario Taylor of Caruthersville, MO; (Daughter) Bobby Taylor of Sikeston, MO; (Sisters) Edward & Alice Tate of Blytheville, Arkansas, Joshua & Jacqueline Leech of Caruthersville, MO, Juliet Grant of Caruthersville, MO, Lexie & Tyhisha Taylor of West Memphis, AR; (Brothers) Lee Taylor of Dyersburg, TN, Christopher Johnson of Columbia, MO, and Matthew Thomas of Sikeston, MO. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren that she loved dearly and adored. And genuine love and plenty of childhood memories from stepbrothers and sisters.

Also, more memories to be cherished and shared with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Divine Holiness Church in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Pastor Jamie Jones officiating. Interment followed in Morgan Ridge Cemetery. H. S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
