Joseph Allen Pattillo was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on May 12, 1958. He was the son of Joseph Ira Pattillo and Betty Sue Gibson Pattillo.
He departed this life in Hayti, Missouri, on December 8, 2025. He was 67 years old.
Joe graduated from Caruthersville High School with the class of 1976. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country. After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Caruthersville.
Joe worked as a carpenter and was known for his finish work. He was a man full of random trivia knowledge especially history facts.
He enjoyed tent camping and cooking over a fire. He also loved fishing. In the last couple of years, you would see him all over Caruthersville riding his electric bicycle.
His most treasured time was when he was eating oranges with brown sugar sprinkled on them with his grandkids and watching Disney movies.
He is survived by his son: J.P. Pattillo and his wife, Amber, of Caruthersville, Missouri; his sister: Lisa McClendon and her husband, David, of Caruthersville, Missouri; six grandchildren: Addison, Ava, Teaghyn, Kharter, Masyn, and Jayce; his nephew: Matthew McClendon and his wife, Stacy, of Caruthersville, Missouri; a special cousin: Reneau Benson Harrison and her husband, Lynn, of Caruthersville, Missouri; four stepchildren: Jason, Nikki, Carrie, and Joey; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancée – Paula Thompson.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Reverend Kenny Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
