Jonathan Rob Wall, 61, of Ashdown, Arkansas, died August 23, 2025, after a long illness.
Born Monday, March 23, 1964, in Texarkana, Texas, he was the son of Neal G. and Kay Vaughan Wall. Jon is survived by his parents, his brother, Tony, his daughter, Ashley Holland, and two grandchildren, Jayleigh Draper and Bradson Draper.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kristin Wall Stoots.
He was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Trimble, Tennessee, graduated from Dyer County High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1990. He later worked as a landscaper in Texarkana, thereby acquiring a substantial knowledge of various types of plants and how to use them to add beauty to landowners' homes. Possessing great natural artistic ability, he was able to transfer some of these skills to interior decorating. He especially loved decorating for holidays, Christmas in particular. After serving as caretaker for his grandmother, Willie Wall, for the last six years of her life, his own life was abruptly changed by the illness he fought throughout the six years remaining to him. Though this illness severely limited his activities, he took great pleasure in selecting just the right greeting cards for people he loved, thereby expressing his appreciation for the various roles they had played in his life. During his last hours of consciousness, he expressed the belief that we should all be sure to tell those who have been an important part of our lives how much we love them.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Ashdown, Arkansas. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee.
