Johnny Faulkner Obituary

Johnny Fearl Faulkner was born in Daniels Landing, Tennessee, on May 25, 1938. He departed this life at NHC Healthcare in Kennett, Missouri on November 4, 2021, at the age of 83.

He was the son of the late James D. Faulkner and the late Claude and Irene Howard.

On March 31, 1962, he was united in marriage to Peggy Wheeler. They were married for 59 years. Fearl worked for Midwest Dairy as a route supervisor for 27 years. He also worked at Brown Shoe Company and Maverick Tube. After he retired, he was busier than ever, working as a handyman for anyone that needed him.

Fearl lived life big. He never met a stranger and he could often be found picking on people or passing out suckers or mints to the kids. He loved to help others and would have given away everything if Peggy would have allowed it. Fearl was a faithful and founding member of the Caruthersville Community Church and followed Jesus at a young age.

Fearl's greatest blessing was his four grandchildren.

Fearl was blessed with lots of family who loved him including his wife: Peggy Faulkner of Caruthersville, Missouri; two sons: Jeff Faulkner (Stacy) of Caruthersville and John Faulkner (Tonya) of Medina, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Samantha Faulkner of Sherwood, Arkansas, Jake Faulkner of Caruthersville, Missouri, Madison Faulkner of Medina, Tennessee, McKenzie Faulkner of Medina, Tennessee; one special niece: Sheila Reffert (Bill) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; six surviving siblings: Shirley Woods, Dan Faulkner, Billy Faulkner, Barbara Armstrong, Louise Duke, & Vernon Faulkner; and a number of other relatives and many, many friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, and five siblings: Paul Faulkner, Shearl Faulkner, Raymond Faulkner, Marie Slavings, and Don Howard.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the H. S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. The interment was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, Missouri. Pall-Bearers were Bradley Cline, Tracy Woods, Kevin Faulkner, Dewayne Faulkner, Bill Reffert, and Kevin Curtis. H. S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of the services.
