Johnie Marvin Linsman, Jr. was born at Cottonwood Point, Missouri, on December 1, 1947. He was the son of Johnie Marvin Linsman, Sr. and Frances Sweat Linsman.
He departed this life in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on May 11, 2026. He was 78 years old.
On August 13, 1982, in Caruthersville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Glenda Marie Henson.
She preceded him in death.
Johnie worked as a welder for Trinity Marine for many years.
He loved spending his free time in his shop. He enjoyed woodworking. If he wasn't in his shop, you would find him working in his garden or mowing the yard. It never got too hot for him to be outside working.
He is survived by three children: Tina Rushing and her husband, Terry, of Caruthersville, MO, Trey Linsman and his wife, Leslie, of Jonesboro, AR, and Paige Odom of Caruthersville, MO; one sister: Dorothy Gray of Munford, TN; seven grandchildren: Sara, Collin, Bailey, Kaitlyn, Chandler, Tristen, and Cordie; four great grandchildren: Bryson, Emersyn, Kolson, and Blayze; a great nephew: Currie Gray; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Johnie & Frances Linsman, his wife – Glenda Linsman, and a nephew – Jason Pounds.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m.
