JOE MICHAEL THOMPSON
Was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on July 16, 1947.
Departed this life in Kennettt, Missouri on January 4, 2020 at the age of 72.
He was the son of the late James Milton Thompson & Mary Ruth Finley Thompson.
Attended the Caruthersville Schools, graduating in the High School Class of 1965.
On September 8, 1966 in Caruthersville he was inducted in the U. S. Army. He received his Honorable Discharge on August 27, 1968 in Oakland, California. Mike received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Mike was united in marriage to Miss Linda Kaye Lea in Caruthersville on May 25, 1969. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He was employed as a maintenance worker with Trinity for many years prior to his retirement.
Mike was a member of the First Christian Church of Kennett, Missouri.
His hobbies and interests included hunting, guns and visiting his buddies at Ben Baker's in Caruthersville.
His home life was very important to him.

& a number of cousins and extended family.
A Celebration of Life was held at the First Christian Church in Kennett, Missouri on January 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael L. Malone officiating. H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
