Jimmy D. Smith

Jimmy D. Smith was born in Selmer, Tennessee, on August 8, 1971.  He was the son of Jimmy D. Smith, Sr. and Sharon Ann Smith.

He departed this life in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 9, 2026.  He was 54 years old.

Jimmy spent 30 years as an over-the-road truck driver.  Before getting into the trucking business, he worked in construction.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and being outdoors.  He was known for cracking lots of jokes. 

He cherished his time with family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son: Cory Smith and his wife, Bethany; his daughter: Kati Swafford and her husband, Tommy; his son: Kevin Stergule; one sister: Stephanie Stewart; one brother: Eddie Hollins, Jr.; five grandchildren: Nahla, Dakoda, Phonix, Violet, and Silas; and many other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife – Gina Brown Swain Smith, a son – Cody Duncan, a niece – Mary Burcham, and his grandparents.
