Jerry Mack Isbell, Jr. was born December 14, 1964, in Santa Rosa, California. He was the son of Jerry Mack Isbell, Sr. and Betty Sue Gunter Isbell.
He departed this life in Dyersburg, Tennessee, on October 4, 2021. He was 56 years old.
During his senior year of high school, he completed Army boot camp. He served in the United States Army for 2 years. He received his honorable discharge. After serving in the Army, he then enlisted in the United States Marines on November 19, 1984, in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his honorable discharge on November 18, 1990, at Camp Pendleton, California. During his time of service, he received his Rifle Expert Badge, Pistol Marksman Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and a Good Conduct Medal.
On June 23, 1990, in Caruthersville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Rena Walton.
Jerry loved life and loved sharing it with his family. He was known for being a huge jokester. The family knew that Saturday meant bar-b-que time and that Jerry would have on shorts, sandals, and a wife beater shirt for the occasion.
Jerry's kids knew that every night they were going to get a text from him that reminded them they were loved but that the grandkids were really a step above them!
He is survived by his wife: Rena Isbell of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three children: Mark (Dana) Lunbeck of Portageville, Missouri, Kayla Lunbeck of Armorel, Arkansas, & Tiffany Isbell of Hayti, Missouri; a sister: Brenda Moore of Caruthersville, Missouri; a brother: Robert Isbell of Caruthersville, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Payson, Mason, Greyson, Landyn, Layken, Brodie, & Logan; his beloved dog: Maddie; and his "Texas" family, nieces, nephews, & many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Oliva Hunt.
Funeral services were held October 9th, 2022, at the H. S. Smith Chapel. H. S. Smith in charge of services.
