Jane Davis Obituary

Jane LaNell Davis was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas, On December 11, 1940. She was the daughter of William Theo "Buck" Madison and Bonnie Estelle Smith Madison.

She departed this life at her home in Wardell, Missouri, on July 9, 2024. She was 83 years old.

LaNell was united in marriage to Gerald Ray Davis on August 4, 1962. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before his death on September 10, 2023.

LaNell or Grandmother as she was known to everyone, was a lady that was always serving others.

She loved to cook. She was quick to share her cooking with others. She also did a lot of canning from Pa's garden. She was a very successful farmer - well a Farm Town Farmer on Facebook! She and Pa were known for their love of dancing. They traveled all over the Tri-State area to attend dances with many friends they made since starting to dance in 1978. They were often described as "effortless class on the dance floor."

She was a faithful member of Wardell Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children: Joey Clowers of Hayti, Missouri, and LaRae Long (Jeff) of Sikeston, Missouri; one brother: Jim Madison (Kathy) of Hayti, Missouri; one sister: Betty McCabe of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Nathan Bullock (Simon), Stephanie Adkins, Betsy Brown (Matt), Sydney Luye (Phil), Aaron Meales (James), Keston Long and Julia Cantrell (Kevin); five great grandchildren: Clayton Adkins, Jersey Luye, Mason Brown, Pippa Luye, and Marshall Brown; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin sister - Mary Nell Fisher, and another sister - Margaret Weaver, and a daughter - LaRenda Kay Bullock.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Wardell Baptist Church with Rodney Quinn officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm. 

Interment will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO, on Friday.
