Herbert Hoover (Pete) Henson was born June 28, 1929, out in the Black Island area of Pemiscot County. He was the son of Oscar P. Henson and Sadie Malone Henson.
He departed this life on May 5, 2025, in Kennett, Missouri. He was 95 years old.
Pete was married in Piggott, Arkansas, to Margaret Marie Sawyer. She preceded him in death in 2012.
Pete was a dedicated employee for many years at the Caruthersville Shipyard. He worked as a crane operator before becoming a supervisor.
He loved fishing and always had an immaculate yard.
Pete’s greatest love was his family.
He is Survived by two sons: Bubby Henson and his wife, Karen, and Glenn Henson and his wife, Stacy; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter – Glenda Linsman, a grandson, and eight siblings.
Graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
