Hazel Lee Holmon was born November 15, 1920, in Gaineville, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Neamo Patrick and Lily Belle Shepard Patrick.
She departed this life on February 22, 2022, at Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was 101 years old.
Hazel was united in marriage to Mr. Roy Holmon in Piggott, Arkansas on September 23, 1949. He preceded her in death.
Hazel was a lady that always had a beautiful garden. Not only did she share things from the garden with others but she also canned the produce from it. She also had a milk cow that she milked twice every day. Hazel and Roy raised chickens and had a route that they ran every week to sell the eggs.
Hazel was known for her pecan pies. If she was going to be celebrating any holiday with you, she was bringing pecan pie. If there was a church potluck, Hazel was bringing pecan pie. She never just made one at a time, she would make 4 or 5 and the extras went into the freezer.
She was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends including the workers at Southgate Living Center, and Boots Fike.
Funeral services were held February 25th, 2022, in the H. S. Smith Chapel with Brother Mike McDaniel officiating. Interment followed in Maple Cemetery.
H. S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
