Guy Tate Obituary
Guy Marshall Tate was born May 26, 1957 in Hayti, Missouri. He was the son of James Tate and Claudette Curtis Cecil.
He departed this life on February 28, 2020 in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was 62 years old.
Guy graduated from Caruthersville High School with the class of 1975.
He worked as a carpenter with Joe Crain Construction for many years.
Guy's greatest pleasure in life was his family. When his boys were young, he became a volunteer coach for the baseball league. His love of sports continued as he watched and coached his grandchildren. He was a wonderful "Pop Pop" to them.
Survived by - his son Justin (Amanda) Tate
1 sister - Shonna Lackey
2 brothers - Mike Cecil
4 grandchildren - Hailea Tate, Miley Tate, Jaxon Tate, Carter Harris
Other relatives and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents - Claudette and Melvin Cecil, a son - Jason (JJ) Tate, 2 sisters - Charlotte Tate and Donna Cecil.
Memorial services were held March 3 at 11:00 with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
