Glenn Petersen Obituary

Glenn Owen Petersen, of Wardell, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on June 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 3, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Glenn lived a full and meaningful life grounded in hard work, quiet generosity, and deep personal connections.

In October of 1961, Glenn began what would become a lifelong career at OH Acom Farms. Over the course of more than six decades, he poured his heart into the land and the people he worked alongside, earning a reputation for his loyalty, dedication, and unwavering strength. In addition to his work on the farm, Glenn also worked tirelessly at Citizens Gin, where his efforts were instrumental during many long harvest seasons. His commitment to the cotton industry reflected the same work ethic and perseverance that defined every aspect of his life.

Though he did not serve in the military, his education at Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois, left a lasting impression, instilling in him the discipline and values that shaped his approach to life and work.

Glenn’s passions were many—antique cars, sign collecting, and antique furniture chief among them. His love for history and craftsmanship came through in everything he did, especially in his involvement with the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club. A proud and active member, Glenn found joy not only in collecting ACD automobiles but in helping others—sharing parts, stories, restoration advice, and friendship. He was always willing to lend a hand, and he embodied the best of what the hobby has to offer.

A gifted storyteller with a sharp wit and a generous heart, Glenn never met a stranger. Whether someone needed a car part, a helping hand, or just a listening ear, Glenn was there. His warmth, knowledge, and sense of humor left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Ruth Petersen; his father, Glenn Petersen; his sister, Zitella Solomon; and his beloved wife, Jackey Petersen.

He is survived by his sons, Cameron and Eric Petersen (and his wife, Cara Lee), along with her children; Matt (and his wife Mary Hannah), Erin; his niece, Briana Gallo; and by the children of his late wife, Jackey—Khris, Bryant, and their children—whom he loved and embraced as his own. Glenn was a devoted father, uncle, and stepfather, and a true friend to many.

Glenn will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
