Ernie Wayne Harrison was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, on February 27, 1944. He was the son of Clint Harrison and Addie Harrison.
He departed this life in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on December 10, 2024. He was 80 years old.
Ernie was united in marriage to Tina Phillips on June 6, 2010.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during which time he fought in the Vietnam War.
Ernie was always ready to share a joke with anyone that would listen. He also enjoyed riding 4 wheelers, and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family mainly the grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife: Tina Harrison; one son: Chris Phillips (Judy); two daughters: Laura Wimberly & Mary Sue Carr; seven grandchildren: Bethany Phillips (Cory Smith), Brianna Phillips, Beverly Phillips, Brooklyn Phillips, Chris Lancaster (Courtney), Thomas Abbott, and Joshua Lancaster (Brittany); seven great grandchildren; one nephew; three nieces; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother – Nick Harrison, 2 sisters – Betty Thomas and Patsy Jones, an infant sister – Annie, a son – Jason Phillips, and a great granddaughter – Laken Abbott.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 16, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Public visitation will start at 11 a.m.
