Elisa Johnson was born Elisa Centria Johnson to Mary and Willie (W.J.) Johnson Jr. on January 16, 1975, in Hayti, MO. Her father Willie (W.J.) Johnson Jr., mother, Mary Johnson, and sister, Clarissa Wilbourn, preceded her in death.
Elisa was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a Jailer at Pemiscot County Justice Center in Caruthersville, MO. She resigned in March of 2022 after catching covid from doing her civic duty as a jailer. Elisa enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also loved taking care of her furry babies, Shadow and Sampson.
Elisa touched many lives with her humor and vibrant personality. She was a best friend, sister, rdc, even at her lowest points. She enjoyed taking trips and visiting family and friends in St. Louis, Osceola, and Memphis.
Elisa resided in Caruthersville, MO. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers and sister: Willie K. (Andrea) Johnson of Effort, PA, Michael A. Johnson of Goldsboro, NC, Abalene J. Simmons (Chris) Wilbourn of Petersburg, VA, Hosie L. (Shiley) Johnson of Killeen, TX, and Marlon D. Johnson (Marquetta) of Hayti, MO. She also leaves behind six nephews, five nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at True Light Church located at 712 S 3rd Street, Hayti, Missouri, with Pastor Willie Joe Jones officiating. Interment to follow in Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
