Dorothea Cagle was born August 18th, 1951, on Arkansas Highway 150 in Mississippi County. She was called from labor to rest on March 19, 2025. Dorothea was given the nickname Doll as a young child; a name that perfectly captured her small stature and beauty. It was a name that stuck with her - a sweet reminder of her charm and warmth she brought to those around her.
Dorothea accepted Christ at an early age. She served as the President of the Heavenly Angels Choir while a member of Greater Mt. Carmel Church for many years.
Doll had an incredible way of turning simple joys into unforgettable moments. Whether it was sharing laughter and excitement with friends as she chased those winning bingo numbers or cheering for her favorite baseball teams, Dodgers and the Cubs. No one could light up the dance floor like she did; it was her unique way of spreading joy. As a mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she made every interaction special whether inviting us to join her in a game of spades or deuces wild or making spaghetti for family events, her warmth brought us together.
Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents - June & Mae Ella Cagle, her oldest son - Leslie Cagle, a grandson - Bobby Pittman Jr., two brothers - Robert Kirby & Terry Cagle, and one sister - Carol Cagle.
Dorothea leaves to cherish her memories Clyde Lockridge, the love of her life; three daughters: Connie (Chester) Maclin of Hennings, TN, Rachael Green of Jackson, TN, and Angela Cagle of Caruthersville, MO; one son: Clyde Lockridge, Jr. of Caruthersville, MO; five brothers: Thurman, Joe (Patricia), Troy (Louise) Cagle, all of Caruthersville MO, Don Ray Cagle of Hayti, MO, and Jerry and Anthony Cagle of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters: Cheryl Cagle and Mary Washington, both of Caruthersville MO; one aunt: Katherine Kirby Cobb of Oklahoma City, OK; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and two special friends: Carol Carter & Lillie Wilbourn.
Though Doll (Grandma Dorothy) is no longer with us, her love for music, baseball, and bingo will forever live in our hearts.
Let us honor her memories by dancing freely, cheering loudly and loving deeply.
