Doris Cowen Obituary
Doris Frances Cowen was born January 25, 1927 in Miston, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late William Isom Cowen and Leona Ophelia Bolton Cowen.
She departed this life on June 29, 2019 at the Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, Missouri. She was 92 years old.
Doris was truly a lady that loved life and people. She worked for 22 years as the bookkeeper for Southern Towing Company. She loved animals, in particular kittens and cats. She also enjoyed trout fishing.
What Doris really cherished in life was her walk with God. She loved being able to attend church for as long as her health allowed. She also wrote a weekly church devotional for the newspaper.
She was a member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters - Ruby Clark, Jewell Medlin, Evelyn James, and a brother - Floyd Cowen.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 30 at 3:30 p.m. at the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Mattson and Rev. Ricky Lyle officiating. Interment in Maple Cemetery.
Pall bearers: Danny Medlin, Jimmie Medlin, Charles Medlin, Logan Medlin, John Michael Bailey, Nicholas Day.
