Donald Ray Smithson

Donald Ray Smithson was born on April 11, 1947, in Caruthersville, Missouri. He was the son of Edward Smithson and Goldie Earls Smithson.

He departed this life in Hayti, Missouri, on February 24, 2024.  He was 76 years old.

Donnie loved living life.  He was known for his cooking especially bar-b-que ribs.  He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and shooting pool.  He had a great sense of humor, always joking and kidding.  His family was very important to him.  He was a wonderful brother.

Donnie worked as a plumber for many years.

He is survived by his brother: Bobby Smithson of Malden, Missouri; his sister: Louise Dodson of Caruthersville, Missouri; two nieces: Shelly Yarbrough (Brent) of Atwell, Georgia, & Wendy Jenkins (Andy) of Ellisnore, Missouri; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister – Patsy Ruth Smithson, and a brother – Paul Smithson.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 1:00 pm in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
