Dede Jean Norwood was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 25, 1971. She departed this life at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi on December 7, 2021, at the age of 50.
She was the daughter of Keith Jean and Theresa Jean and Wes Phillips.
Dede grew up in McCarty where she attended the R-3 school. She attended Caruthersville High School, graduating in the High School Class of 1989. Following graduation, Dede attended Ole Miss graduating with a Business Degree.
Dede began her career in accounting with Hilton Hotels Corporation in 1994 where she worked for 15 years. Her love for children led her to take another path and she became a school teacher for DeSoto County Schools.
More than anything, Dede enjoyed spending time with her children, family and close friends.
Dede is survived by her sons: Andrew Norwood & Matthew Norwood and his wife, Madison Norwood; her mother: Theresa Jean; sisters: Ami Jo Jean and Leslie Phillips Feret; brother: Alan Jean; nephews: Ethan Stickland & Alan Keith Jean; close friends: Melanie Alexander Folkes, Ginger Davis, and Angela Tidmore; as well as many other close family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville, Missouri, with Brother Dave Lewelling officiating. Interment followed in Maple Cemetery.
